A Fun Mess

Hi All!

SO sorry that it's been so long since I've posted anything here. I've had good intentions but I've been lazy! I've been 'doing school' with Cody some and today we did a fun activity. We took shaving cream and put it on a cookie sheet to practice writing letters. Noah joined in the fun! Thanks to Oma for the supplies!

I plan on really starting school after the summer is over. Well, Cody is 4 now and I guess it's time for preschool! He is SO ready to learn! He loves the little bit we do now and he's well on his way to reading! He can sound out some words and he asks us what words say all the time. I will definitely post our school days! Wish me luck!

Just a side note: Do you see the awsome tile floors in my house?!? This was Thomas' Mothers Day present to me. He did a great job! I'm thrilled to not have carpet in my dining room anymore because kids+food+carpet don't mix!

Brian and Wesley's Birth Day!

Here are pictures of Robin's beautiful babies! Brian was born today (5/12) at 3:54am and weighed 4lb 14oz. Wesley was born at 3:55 and weighed 5lb. Both boys are 18 1/2 inches long. Robin is doing great! The boys are in the NICU for a few days but they are both healthy. From what I understand, they are in the NICU because of their weight. Robin says they could be there from 3-7 days depending on how they do. Thomas and I got to go see her this afternoon and she was holding them for the first time. She was so sweet with them and they are so little! And both have very blonde hair! Congrats Robin and Aaron! We love you!

Cody's Birthday Party

We had a wonderful birthday party for Cody today! I can't beleive that he's already turning 4! Where did my baby go? He's just the best kid and God couldn't have given us a sweeter boy! (Well, Noah is pretty sweet too though). Cody invited some friends from his bible class and they all had a great time playing. We are so blessed to have good friends!

Eating Toes!

I've been trying to get a good picture of Noah eating his toes. He does it ALL the time! So I went to get a video of him, and of course, Cody couldn't help but get in the photos too! And if Noah is getting attention by looking cute and eating his toes...guess what Cody is going to do?!?

Nascar

As most of you know, Cody is obsessed with cars! It started as a love for the Disney 'Cars' movie. This kid has just about every 'Cars' toy that Disney has made -thanks to all of his grandparents who love to spoil him! Well, as it turns out, his obsession is growing! Not too long ago, I asked Cody what he wants to be when he grows up. He said (with such passion) 'a nascar driver'!!! NASCAR?? Are you kidding me? How does he even know what nascar is? Thomas and I aren't nascar fans! I've never watched a car race in my life! Thomas says he didn't tell him what nascar is. So, now he's been talking about nascar more and more. So, I told him he could be anything he wants to be (despite this scaring me to death if he ever did race cars) and I took him to the Daytona International Speedway! We went to visit Robin who is getting pretty close to having those babies! The doctors have taken her off of strict bed rest and now she's supposed to just be taking it easy. So here are picts from our Daytona visit.

Some of you who havn't seen Noah have asked if he really has red hair. It's been hard to tell in some pictures, but you can see it better in this one out in the sun. If you click on these picts they will open up enlarged.
Look at Robin! She looks great! I can't wait to see my nephews!

Sitting Up

Noah has been sitting up all by himself now for a couple of weeks! I just havn't gotten around to blogging since we've been home from Virgina and Maryland. Recently, Cody has been trying to teach Noah how to be a 'big boy' by showing him how to play with toys. Yesterday I found him trying to get Noah to roll the ball with him! I had to get a picture of that! While we were at it I took a short video. You can see how well Noah is sitting up and also see just how sweet Cody and Noah are to each other. Noah has started grabbing Cody when he is near and giving him hugs and kisses. I'm so excited that you all get to see him do this now too!

Cherry Blossoms and tulips

The Cherry Blossom Festival is going on in DC this week. We went downtown to see them on Wednesday. It was a little chilly, but it was bright and sunny.
This picture was taken from the Jefferson memorial looking out over the tidal basin to the Washington Monument:

There was a tulip garden planted along the way. There were so many people taking pictures of these beautiful flowers. Both boys enjoyed looking at them. Noah actually got a hold of one when we weren't looking and got a petal or two. Shh..don't tell anyone!
